The Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club started the Betty Woolsey Olympian Endowment in 1992 in honor of Betty Woolsey. Ms. Woolsey was a member of the 1936 U.S. Women's Olympic Alpine Ski Team and continued her involvement with the U.S. Team as competitor and Captain of the Women's team. The Betty Woolsey Olympian Endowment helps to provide a quality ski program to carry on the traditions of personal achievement and excellence that she exemplifies.
In continued spirit of Betty's excellence at the National and International level, this scholarship is offered to Alpine, Freestyle and Nordic athletes that have qualified to compete at a National Championships. In one page or less, please describe what your berth in this National Championship event will mean/did mean to you as an athlete. 2017 Deadline: Please submit your essay by April 14, 2017. Essays may be emailed to email@example.com.
This scholarship will be divided evenly between three athletes, one chosen from each discipline (Alpine, Nordic, Freeride). This year's annual 4% payout was $1,000.
