Trail Creek Grooming Report
And the Winner Is!
2017 hands down. The images above were taken each February for the past six years of one of the cabins on the Homesite ski run. While we have had some good years in the past, 2017 blows the others away, especially note how close the snow is to the eaves. Click on each image for an enlarged version.
Today at Trail Creek the skiing has made a significant turn for the better. One female skater who gave up yesterday was all smiles with a report of 100% improvement. Today’s grooming began with an initial Ginzu classic pass followed by two Ginzu skate passes. While you will find a few hiccups here and there, all in all the classic track is pretty good and the skate lanes have smoothed out and firmed up dramatically. As of noon the temperature was 1ºC/34º with the light rain that has been falling attempting to turn to snow. The wind is calm.
Good news from the teams, the Snake River Canyon to Alpine opened late morning so almost all of the teams are on their way to the Junior National Qualifier in West Yellowstone. Good luck to the racers!
Groomer’s choice for today is to ski the Moose Chase Course which is what was groomed today.
