Academic Policy and Early-Release Programs

Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club staff works closely with the Jackson Hole High School, the JH Middle School, the JH Community School, and the Journeys School to further develop the Early-Release Program for each academic year and summer programs. The Club and local schools are highly motivated to create educational program options for students that enable them to maintain a rigorous academic schedule while supporting athletic growth and development.

The Early Release Program gives high-school and middle-school age athletes the opportunity to take advantage of daylight hours and also receive a high quality education.  There are a variety of options at each of the Teton County schools, which include summer school, online courses, fall/spring semester courses, the Journeys School Winter Term, and zero period. The Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club strongly encourages families to take advantage of these options as they will help improve training sessions and lighten the winter academic load.

Please be sure to review our Academic Policy and Early-Release Program information from the Parent/Athlete Handbook. While the club does not require a pre-arranged absence form, Community School and Journeys School athletes should complete and submit their school's Pre-Arranged Absence Form to their administrations according to school policy before race travel. Parents of all student athletes are responsible for calling their school's attendance office in advance of race travel to arrange absences. Please contact the Academic Coordinator, Grace Tirapelle, at gtirapelle@jhskiclub.org or (307)733-6433, ext. 103 with any school-specific questions.
